The Grounds of Ashford Castle are among the most delighful in Ireland spanning over 350 Acres of woodlands, lakeside and river walks. Multiple activities such as falconry, clay pigeon shooting and horse riding as well as interesting walks are available on request. It is recommended to take a boat ride on Lough Corrib and perhaps stop on the Island of St.Patrick to view the ruins of an ancient monastery.There is wonderful evening entertainment available in the Dungeon Bar at Ashford Castle during the summer months.

In the immediate environs of Belfast city are many fine areas to visit and attractions. The city is surrounded on three sides by hills and Belfast Castle stands overlooking the city and has fine views across the harbor and docklands. To the north of the city is the town of CarrickFergus with one of the finest Castles on the Island of Ireland. South of the centre the town of Hillsborough has magnificent Georgian Buildings and a well preserved Garrison. Nearby towns such as Lisburn have many reminders of industrial past when Belfast was not only the main Shipbuilding centre for the British Empire but also Linen for the soldiers.
